Peace in Our Time

There it was for all to see: the agreement Chamberlin had gone to get from Hitler.

Chamberlin had given Hitler the western part of Czechoslovakia, and Hitler himself had personally signed the agreement. Upon his return to England, Chamberlin held it up for all to see. He spoke briefly over the radio, saying it was “peace in our time.”

But it turned out to be just a piece of paper. Hitler broke those promises, rather quickly.
