In the Cold War, Nam was a hinge point. Before Nam, we were chasing the other side, trying to catch up with them. After Nam, they were chasing us, and never caught up.
From that view, Nam marks a sea change.
From that view, Nam marks the beginning of the winning of the Cold War.
