An HH-60 Pave Hawk combat search and rescue helicopter sits on the flightline as maintenance crews prepare it for a mission Aug. 10 at Kandahar Air Base, Afghanistan.

The crews flying the HH-60s are supporting coalition and Afghan forces by landing in hostile areas to recover casualties and fly them to medical facilities for treatment.
