Brush Burn

Rescue Swimmer

GULF OF OMAN (Sept. 24, 2008) Boatswain’s Mate Seaman Michael McClure, from Broken Arrow, Okla., rides inside a rigid-hull inflatable boat during small boat operations alongside the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76).

McClure is one of three rescue swimmers assigned to Deck Department aboard Ronald Reagan.

Ronald Reagan is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.

Preparation For Deployment

The B-1B has the capability to carry guided and unguided weapons and deliver massive quantities of precision and non-precision weapons against specific targets.

Joint unmanned aircraft system crosses Atlantic

A Global Hawk unmanned aircraft system from the 9th Reconnaissance Wing at Beale Air Force Base, Calif., made a trans-Atlantic flight Sept. 20 with the assistance of Navy officials.

The 19-hour flight took off from Patuxent River Naval Air Station, Md., to Southwest Asia.
