BUSAN, Republic of Korea (March 20, 2009) Vice Adm. John M. Bird, commander, U.S. 7th Fleet, and Vice Adm. Park Jung-hwa, commander, Republic of Korea Fleet Command, sign into effect a new maritime operational plan during a reception aboard the amphibious command ship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), marking the completion of exercise Key Resolve 2009. The revised operational plan sets the foundation for a smooth and seamless transition of wartime operational control responsibilities from U.S. 7th Fleet to Commander, Republic of Korea Fleet Command by April, 2012.
