The ground floor classroom of the Do Abe School in Bamyan province, eastern Afghanistan, suffered severe damage after insurgents planted and detonated explosives in the school June 21. Glass and debris were scattered several meters from the building, and the interior of the building suffered major damage. Nobody was hurt in the blast. Insurgents have targeted five educational facilities in eastern Afghanistan within the past week. Afghan national policemen and coalition forces service members prevented their most recent attack by uncovering and removing improvised explosive devices placed around a school in Paktika province.
