Paktika PRT Inspects Dam Construction

FORWARD OPERATING BASE SHARANA, Afghanistan – Members of the Paktika Provincial Reconstruction Team inspect the progress of a dam being constructed near Yosuf Khel village, Afghanistan, Sept. 22.

The PRT is made up of U.S. military and representatives from the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Agency for International Development, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, that fund and evaluate Afghanistan reconstruction projects to promote self-sufficiency and better quality of life for the Afghan people.

NEW ORLEANS - A 33-foot response boat from U.S. Coast Guard Station Venice, La., monitors efforts to free the grounded tank vessel Eagle Tucson, Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, near Pilottown, La., at the mouth of the Mississippi. The Eagle Tuscon grounded at approximately 2:45 a.m., Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, and is currently blocking deep-draft shipping traffic.
