One Airman's Trash Is Other Airman's Training Aid

The aircraft is believed to have been destroyed years ago after it crashed short of a runway outside the wire, without casualties.

Several American and Iraqi airmen are working together to salvage parts for use as hands-on training aids for Iraqi aircraft maintainers at New Al Muthana Air Base.

Sergeant Weaver is the production superintendent for aircraft maintenance advisers assigned to the 321st Air Expeditionary Advisory Group. He is deployed from Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark. and hails from Grafton, W.Va.

Sergeant Smith is the assistant fire chief assigned to the 447th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron and is deployed from the 132nd Fighter Wing of the Iowa Air National Guard. He is a native of Ankeny, Iowa.
