Carl Vinson Partners With Uruguay For Southern Seas 2010

ATLANTIC OCEAN (March 3, 2010) The aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), center, and the guided-missile cruiser USS Bunker Hill (CG 52), center right, transit in formation off the coast of Rio de Janeiro with the Brazilian navy ships BNS Independencia (F44), BNS Constinuicao (F44) and BNS Niterai (F40). The ships are participating in Southern Seas 2010, a major component of Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command Partnership of the Americas maritime engagement strategy.
