Gunston Hall Prepares To Deploy

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (March 27, 2012) Sailors heave the brow as the Whidbey Island-class amphibious dock landing ship USS Gunston Hall (LSD 44) prepares to deploy from Joint Logistics Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story. Gunston Hall deployed as part of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group with the embarked 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (24th MEU) and will support maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility. Philadelphia Marine Takes Pride In Service To Country, Corps

Cpl. Jerry Golden, noncommissioned officer-in-charge of the fuel farm at Forward Operating Base Geronimo, is a bulk fuel Marine with Headquarters and Service Company, 9th Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group (Forward).
