Close Air Support With An F-18

Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) Airmen attached to the 165th Air Support Operations Squadron, Brunswick, GA coordinate close air support with an F-18 flying over Townsend Range on August 16, 2011 during a three day field exercise in Brunswick, GA. The exercise is the final phase of their 45 day training class "Project 175" where they will bring everything they have learned throughout the course and apply it to this scenario earning them their five level. During exercises, contingencies, or actual war, the Air Support Operations mission is to provide meteorological support and deploy with, advise, and assist the ground force commander in planning, requesting, coordinating and controlling close air support, tactical air reconnaissance, and tactical airlift.

KINGS BAY, Ga. First Deployment To Afghanistan

Returning From A Year Of Duty In Kosovo

North Dakota Army National Guard Soldiers take their first steps onto U.S. soil at Indianapolis International Airport as they return from their KFOR 12 deployment, July 18.

Waiting to greet them at the bottom of the stairs is Maj. Gen. David A. Sprynczynatyk, North Dakota National Guard adjutant general.

About 400 Soldiers returned to Camp Atterbury, Ind. and Fort Benning, Ga., after yearlong duty in Kosovo.

The Soldiers are participating in the demobilization process before returning home to North Dakota.

Redeploying To Their Home Unit

07/10/2010 – U.S. Army soldiers from Charlie Company, 67th Signal Battalion stationed at Fort Gordon, Ga., board a C-17 Globemaster III aircraft at Sather Air Base in Iraq on July 10, 2010.

The aircraft is from the 817th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron out of Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, and deployed from Charleston Air Force Base, S.C.

Charlie Company is redeploying to their home unit as part of the drawdown to 50,000 troops in Iraq by August 31, 2010.
