U.S. Army Soldiers from the Task Force Currahee, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, at Foward Operating Base Sharana, Afghanistan, celebrated the United States Army’s 236th Birthday June 14, with a barbecue.

ANSF, Red Currahee Reapers Overcome Terrain Challenges, Open Gwashta Pass

PAKTIKA PROVINCE, Afghanistan - Soldiers from “Reapers”, the Mortar Platoon, 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, Task Force Red Currahee, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, TF Currahee, clear a cave and secure the area where they will provide indirect fire support during Operation Red Storm. ANSF, Task Force Iron Soldiers Hunt Down, Capture Elusive Taliban Commander

Paktika PRT Inspects Dam Construction

FORWARD OPERATING BASE SHARANA, Afghanistan – Members of the Paktika Provincial Reconstruction Team inspect the progress of a dam being constructed near Yosuf Khel village, Afghanistan, Sept. 22.

The PRT is made up of U.S. military and representatives from the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Agency for International Development, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, that fund and evaluate Afghanistan reconstruction projects to promote self-sufficiency and better quality of life for the Afghan people.
